Canning Town Station
With three different modes of transport passing through it, Canning Town Station is an essential part of a much larger transport system in the City of London, servicing the Jubilee tube line, the DLR and the iconic red buses of London all from one building. Due to this constant flow of people travelling to and from inner London, as well as international travelers from the City Airport and Stratford International, it was important to provide a modern aesthetic for Canning Town Station that reflected the luxury of international travel.
Using our 40+ years of experience in the design, fabrication and installation of public transport structures, Future Systems Inc. was involved in producing the fascinating building that is Canning Town Station. Its “double-decker” structure is itself an unusual design, but the expansive glass walls also help it stand out from the crowd of bustling commuters.
