Arlington County (Columbia Pike)

Future Systems Inc. is the ongoing manufacturer for the custom BRT station shelters for Arlington County's transformative Columbia Pike Bus Rapid Transit corridor, the busiest bus transit corridor in Virginia. Under a program that began in 2019, we are supplying prefabricated, large-format shelters designed to accommodate two transit vehicles at 90-120 foot platforms.

Our engineered shelters feature a distinctive design with a large patterned glass roof and side windscreens, high-quality stainless steel and glass construction, integrated real-time bus arrival displays, lighting, and expanded seating. A key innovation is their bolt-down installation system, which eliminates the need for deep foundations, significantly reducing cost and simplifying deployment. The first eight stations were installed in Spring 2023, with continued manufacturing and delivery supporting the construction of the remaining stations through 2026.
