Metropolitan Transit System
(South Bay Rapid) – San Diego, CA

Future Systems Inc. was awarded a major contract to deliver custom transit infrastructure for San Diego’s South Bay Rapid BRT project. Our scope included the complete fabrication detailing, manufacturing, and delivery of 33 custom BRT stations and 29 Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) structures, all completed ahead of schedule and on budget.

Based on the architect’s concept, we engineered full fabrication drawings for the distinctive glass-roof shelter design, faithfully maintaining its aesthetic while incorporating critical passenger technology. Key features included integrated variable message screens (VMS), LED lighting, seating, and publicity displays. The first shelter was delivered in August 2016, supporting the launch of this key rapid transit corridor.
